This historic English city is a beautiful destination, full of academic charm, stunning architecture, beautiful gardens, and interesting museums. Here are some tips to make the most of your visit to Cambridge:
1. Explore the University of Cambridge: This is a must-see for any visitor to the city. The prestigious university has been around since the 12th century, and its stunning buildings and spacious gardens make for a captivating and picturesque visit. Visit the famous King’s College Chapel, the Fitzwilliam Museum, and take a stroll along the Backs, the green gardens that run along the River Cam.
2. Enjoy the outdoors: Cambridge is an ideal place for outdoor enthusiasts. Go punting past the historic colleges on the River Cam. Go for a picnic in the beautiful Christ’s Pieces Park or Jesus Green in the city centre, Lammas Land, or Cherry Hinton Hall Park. Take a walk in the countryside surrounding Cambridge. Some of our personal favorites are Wandlebury, Anglesley Abbey, and Milton Country Park.
3. Learn about animals and fossils at the Museum of Zoology: If you are interested in zoology, you shouldn’t miss this museum. You will find a fantastic collection of specimens from across the world. It is one of the largest and most important natural history museums in the UK.
4. Visit Kettle’s Yard: This is a must-see if you’re a fan of art and design. It is the former home of art collector Jim Ede, and now houses galleries displaying modern and contemporary art. The house is also a masterpiece of interior design, incorporating Japanese and Mediterranean styles.
