Taking a break from the daily routine and embarking on a solo trip to Malta was a liberating experience. With my husband taking care of the kids, I had the opportunity to explore this Mediterranean gem at my own pace. Over the course of four days in October, I discovered the beauty of Malta, indulged in relaxation at the Qawra Palace and Spa, and ventured to some of the island’s most captivating destinations.

Things I would have loved to do if I would have had more time:
Day 1: Embracing the Tranquility of Qawra Palace and Spa
Arriving at my hotel, the Qawra Palace and Spa, I indulged in some well-deserved relaxation. With its luxurious amenities, serene atmosphere, and stunning sea views, the hotel provided the perfect sanctuary to unwind. Whether it was lounging by the pool, enjoying a rejuvenating spa treatment, or solo dining, every moment at the Qawra Palace was absolutely amazing.
Day 2: Popeye Village – A Whimsical Escape
My first stop was Popeye Village, a charming and colorful film set turned tourist attraction. Nestled in Anchor Bay, this village is a homage to the beloved cartoon character, Popeye the Sailor. Exploring the beautiful buildings, interacting with the characters, and enjoying the stunning coastal views made for a truly memorable experience. The picturesque surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for a photo session and I was so glad that I was able to squeeze in a maternity session as well as a family session while I was there.
I watched the breathtaking sunset near Popeye Village and then took a taxi back to the hotel via the bolt app.
Day 3: A Day Trip to Gozo – Unveiling Hidden Treasures
Boarding a bus to the harbor, I embarked on a ferry journey to Gozo, Malta’s sister island. The scenic boat ride offered breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. Upon arrival, I hopped on a hop-on-hop-off bus to explore Gozo’s stunning landscapes, ancient temples, and charming villages.
Day 4: Returning home
Although my time in Malta was limited, I couldn’t help but dream of exploring Valletta, the capital city, and the famous Blue Lagoon. Valletta, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is renowned for its rich history, stunning architecture, and vibrant culture. The Blue Lagoon, located on the island of Comino, is a paradise of crystal-clear waters and beautiful beaches. These two destinations are definitely on my list for a future visit to Malta.
My solo trip to Malta was a remarkable experience that allowed me to embrace freedom, relaxation, and exploration. From the whimsical Popeye Village to the hidden gems of Gozo, every moment was filled with awe and wonder. I left Malta with a sense of fulfillment and a desire to return. If you’re seeking a destination that combines history, natural beauty, and Mediterranean charm, Malta is the perfect choice.
