Things we’ve done:
- Albufeira
- Ponta da Piedade in Lagos
- Cerro da Vila (Roman Ruins) in Vilamoura
I am so grateful for the moments shared with my little explorers. From sandy beaches to ancient ruins, Portugal captivated us with its beauty and charm. This trip proved that with a dash of courage and a sprinkle of creativity, solo travel with kids can be a rewarding and unforgettable experience.
We stayed at the Pestana Vila Sol Golf Resort, a haven of relaxation and fun for both kids and adults. The resort’s child-friendly amenities, including an indoor pool, playground, and playroom, made it the perfect choice for our family getaway. Plus, the convenience of having buffet breakfast and dinner included took the stress out of meal planning.
Our days were filled with exciting explorations, like day trips to Albufeira and Lagos. The picturesque coastal town of Albufeira charmed us with its sandy beaches, colorful cliffs, and bustling streets. We soaked up the sun, sampled local cuisine, and ate ice cream by the beach.
In Lagos, we discovered a treasure trove of natural beauty, from stunning rock formations to hidden coves. The kids were thrilled to walk along the coastal trail Ponta da Piedade.
One of the highlights of our trip was visiting the Cerro da Vila Roman Ruins in Vilamoura. Stepping back in time, we marveled at the ancient artifacts and learned about the rich history of the region. The kids were fascinated by the ruins and even pretended to be archaeologists on a grand expedition. Before flying home, we walked along the harbor of Vilamoura and grabbed lunch there.
Throughout our journey, transportation was a breeze thanks to the Bolt app, which made getting around hassle-free and convenient. From airport transfers to sightseeing trips, we zipped around with ease, allowing us to make the most of our limited time in Portugal.
