In May, we jetted off from Stansted to Heraklion with Jet2 Holidays, ready to explore all that this enchanting Greek island had to offer.
Our home for the week was the luxurious Arminia Resort and Spa, an all-inclusive haven for kids with top-notch amenities and service. The highlight of our stay was the kid-friendly facilities, including five outdoor pools, a splash pad, a water park, easy beach access, an indoor play area, and two outdoor play areas. Our little ones were in paradise, and we were able to relax and unwind.
One of the highlights of our trip was a day trip to Santorini, organized through Hay Tours. We set off bright and early at 6 am and spent the day exploring the stunning beauty of this iconic Greek island, from its picturesque villages perched on cliffs to its crystal-clear waters and breathtaking sunsets. It was a truly magical experience that we will never forget.
Another memorable day was spent exploring Knossos, Europe’s oldest city, by rental car. The ancient ruins and archaeological site were a fascinating glimpse into the island’s rich history, but a word of caution: don’t bring a stroller as the terrain can be challenging to navigate.
For a fun-filled family day out, we visited the Dinosaur Park in Heraklion, also with our rental car. Our kids were thrilled to see life-sized dinosaur replicas and learn about these prehistoric creatures in an interactive and engaging way.
Our time in Crete was a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and quality family time. From exploring ancient cities to enjoying the sun and sea, we created memories that will last a lifetime. Crete truly captured our hearts, and we can’t wait to return to this magical island again.
As soon as the plane landed in London, our son eagerly asked, „So, how do I get back to Greece now?“
