An Extreme Day Trip to Belfast

Last December, my husband and I embarked on an extreme day trip to Belfast, eager to explore the city’s rich history and festive charm. With the first flight in and the last flight out, we managed to make the most of our short stay, thanks to my parents who graciously watched over our kids while we were away.

Length of stay: 1 day

Time of year: December

Flight: RyanAir

Transportation: Taxi

Things we’ve done:

Our day began with a visit to the iconic Titanic Belfast, where we were immersed in the tragic story of the ill-fated ship. The interactive exhibits and stunning architecture left us in awe of Belfast’s maritime heritage.

Next, we strolled through the beautiful Christmas Market, sipping on mulled wine and browsing through handcrafted gifts. The twinkling lights and cheerful atmosphere filled us with holiday spirit.

We then made our way to the historic Belfast City Hall, admiring its grand facade and details.

A highlight of our day was exploring St George’s Market, a bustling hub of local vendors selling everything from fresh produce to handmade crafts.

For lunch, we stopped at The Crown Saloon, a historic pub known for its Victorian decor and Irish cuisine.

As the sun set on our day trip, we couldn’t help but feel grateful for the memories we had made in Belfast. From exploring historic landmarks to soaking in the festive atmosphere, our brief visit had left a lasting impression.
